Victor's revival

Revival has come to our home this evening May 3, 2008:

Alfredo and Victor returned from the church service this evening discussing the inappropriate behavior of some of his classmates. So when Victor arrived to the house, Valerie and Mommy were each getting ready for bed and having a quiet time. Victor said, Mom, is there a verse about us not showing our private zones? Yes there are verses about that, I'll look for them and get back to you.
A short while later we all sat on Valerie's bed and I shared how in the beginning Adam and Eve didn't have any clothes (Victor clarified that you can show your private zones to your spouse, which we have taught them.) Valerie groaned at the mere thought of that and wondered aloud that indeed, girls are more modest than boys! Gender differences are noted even at this young age!
We read from Gen. 2 and I said that when they sinned God himself made them garments of skin. Victor immediately said: Wow, God still loved them even after they sinned. He took care of them.
Victor, that is a profound theological understanding! He sort of looked confused, Alfredo and I laughed since I'd said it mostly for Alfredo and yet Victor looked pleased with what he knew was a compliment.
Unfortunately Valerie's eyes closed and she went off to sleep while Alfredo and I continued with Victor's "revival" in his room.

What follows are a number of statements made by Victor in our presence. The Holy Spirit was so clearly upon this young child that at times we just cried tears of joy.

We gave him a "love sandwich" and listened attentively as he pondered aloud and shared his thoughts and feelings. At one point, I said, Victor, any more thoughts? No, I just feel joy.

"I feel that my heart is hungry for God's Word"
"I can not help but having a smile in my face."
"My mind is telling me that the Bible is a treasure for me."
"I want to read the Bible more and learn more about it."
"I want to hug Jesus."
"My heart feels good."
"All the bad guys I have seen in movies are being kicked out of my mind. And I can't get rid of my smile, I see in my mind."

It's so clear that the Holy Spirit is active and alive in his heart. Children's imagination is fertile ground for the Spirit's work.

"I want to read the Bible seven times a day."
"I can not go to sleep, I have so much joy in my heart."
"Daddy and Mommy I am so thankfull you are with me right now!
"Daddy, what can I do to tell others about God? I need to know more about the Bible.
"My eyes feel like they want to cry."
"I want to sleep hugging God or hugging the Bible. Can I?"

How about I write down some verses for you to take to school and you can learn them throughout the day, I shared.

"I am going to tell my teacher about what happend to me tonight. What is it called that is happening to me?
Mom: It is the Holy Spirit working in you!
Daddy: Jesus is filling your life with His Spirit!
"The devil is all alone. God has His Son (and the Holy Spirit, added Mom). Yeah, but how come God has a Son if He doesn't have a wife? Did He get a fat tummy?

How to predict the manner in which God will work in the willing heart of a child? We count ourselves blessed and can claim no credit for what God does. What happened was between Victor and God and we were privileged to be present.

Rejoice with us at God's soverign move upon our beloved son.
Alfredo and Lisa
